Choosing an Approved Driving Instructor
ADI stands for Approved Driving Instructor – the person who will teach you to drive and (fingers crossed!) help you pass your test. All ADIs will have undertaken training and be approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in order to conduct learner driver training. You can tell if a person is an ADI as they are required to display a green ADI certificate on their windshield while training. If a pink certificate is displayed this indicates that they are a trainee, and are getting teaching experience before they pass their instructors exam. RoSPA.

Before you start the driving ability part of your test
Before you start the driving ability part of your test, you’ll have an eyesight check and be asked two vehicle safety questions.
The examiner will ask you to read the number plate on a parked vehicle to test your eyesight. If you fail the check, your driving test won’t continue. You can find out how the eyesight check works by clicking on the link below.

Vehicle safety questions: 'show me, tell me'
At the start of the practical driving test you are required to explain to the examiner where and how to check the tyres, brakes, fluid levels, lights, direction
indicators, power steering and horn.
You will be asked two questions, one ‘show me’ and one ‘tell me’ question.
One or both questions answered incorrectly will result in one driving fault being recorded.
There are 21 different questions, which can be asked, in multiple combinations. Below you will find a link to all the current show me, tell me questions and answers.
